What makes me so sick about this, is how she was super polite on the phone and even panicked saying “sorry! Sorry!” When the operator told her the address wasn’t right. She’s so used to having to be friendly probably to try to reduce her parents anger.

Being polite is not a reaction to her parents. Maybe she has a sweet heart and she's just sincerely polite. She is really smart.

Puberty is triggered by the hypothalamic-pituitary axis, specifically, the release of the GnRH hormones from the hypothalamus, which causes the release of LH & FSH from the pituitary. But this axis can only be triggered, and the hormones are only released if a critical mass is achieved, in most women, this mass is around 47 kg.
If for whatever reason, this mass is not reached, likely due to poor nutrition, then the axis won't trigger puberty, and puberty will become delayed until the mass is reached, this is because the body does not waste resources on a non-essential process like puberty when there are barely enough calories to stay alive. This is why in the past when food was scarcer, puberty began later, and good nutrition today has caused a high prevalence of precocious puberty.
From the situations, the children were living in (living on ketchup and ice), they all appear to have been malnutrition, and so Jordan wouldn't have been able to reach a critical mass and undergo the puberty transition.
Even though she was 17 at the time, Jordan would still have been pre-pubescent, since she would never have started puberty in her malnutritioned state. Hence why she still sounds like a small child, her voice hadn't deepened yet.
Presumably, once she escaped and began to receive proper nutrition, she would have begun puberty and reached menarche.

@John Not exactly, she was malnutritioned, hence she didn't undergo puberty at the correct age (low body weight causes puberty to be delayed), which is why she sounded like a child, once she escaped, she would have had proper access to food, her weight would increase, and puberty would begin, hence why she had a deeper voice in the interview.

    • Dev Dixit

Parents? you call these people parents? no. no . no. they don't even deserve the title "parents." all these people did was reproduce so many children will the equipment they had. A parent is someone who gives food, clothing, shelter, love, protection, and security to their children and these people did none of that for their children.

I just learned about this within the past week due to Jordan recently disclosing that at the FOSTER HOME afterwards that the government sent them to she and a bunch of her siblings were abused by the foster parents. How did I never hear about this case before? They abused them just as badly as their parents did. They were forced to eat their own vomit! Why are people so crazy??? It is strange how the U.S. government and U.S. state governments all make it hard for good people to adopt American orphans and American abandoned children while allowing really terrible monsters to abuse these children via the foster care system.

Young lady - Jordan - you are an amazing and gutsy strong person.
